Savor the Moment.

My friend Alex forwarded this to me, and I thought it was pretty hysterical. The guy in question works for a non-profit organization in D.C, enjoy!

So I thought I volunteer a really funny and scary and sad story about my morning.

My friend Hank sends me an email with something called WAYN. I think it looks cool so I sign up and hit a buttom that says, invite your gmail friends. Problem was, the whole gmail contact list was addded. Even bigger problem, work email was down last week so I used my gmail to correspond with a few people. So, this morning, the following people, inter alia, recieved a WAYN invite.

Leonard S. Spector, Director of the Monterey Institute (my boss who is currently filling in my paperwork for extending my VISA)

Ambassador Suto, former Japanese Ambassador to Iran who visited here last week

Peter Eriksson, Political Counsol at the Swedish Embassy

Eva-Britt Svensson, Member of the European Union Parliament

etc, etc, etc...my day so far...not that good.

Although I'm not much of a fashionista, I was very excited about being invited to a Bernard Chandran show by Zaharah Wan (a Malaysian journalist) during London's Fashion Week... (Click here for a great article written by a student at a fashion school Bernard visited, and here to check out Aunty Z's blog.)

Bernard's collection is ripe with olives, wine reds and deep sumptuous chocolates. I found his creations to be tailored and sexy; note the clean lines with flirty feminine accents. (I especially loved the red suit with the empire waist and kimono-style sash). Most designers go for the shock factor (IE. things so ugly, you want to rip the models off the catwalk,) but Bernard was able to shock and awe us with clothing that was beautiful, wearable and well thought out. I especially loved the central themes throughout the clothes (New York Wall Street meets Emily Brontë romance novel) - down to the models with similar hairstyles.
